XSL-FO PDF Export

One of the best new features of version 1.4 of FormReturn is the addition of an XSL-FO processor into the program. You are now able to embed multiple XSL-FO files inside of a FormReturn form, and when it comes to exporting the captured data, you can select one of these files to merge with the captured data's XML stream.

To use this feature, first export the XML file from a test publication of the form you made. Use that XML as the basis for designing your XSL-FO file (using a program like XF Designer), then republish your form and include the newly created XSL-FO template.

If you'd like to purchase a FormReturn license with an XF Designer license, we'll be able to offer you a 10% discount off the combined price of the two programs. Please email orders@ebstrada.com if you'd like to do this.

FormReturn uses Apache FOP as its XSL-FO processor. If you write an XSL-FO template, be sure that it is compatible with FOP.

More details and tutorials on creating an XSL-FO template will be available shortly.
